Regular Web FullStack Developer: Changing the hospitality industry

The company is looking for a Regular Web FullStack Developer, which will act as a high-level technical expert in the development, testing, and deployment of new and existing web applications. The solutions you develop will support the extensive network of culinary arts and hospitality schools located internationally.

They are looking for self-motivated, organized people, which have a passion for learning new technologies, are comfortable with all facets of the software development life cycle, and are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Working with minimal supervision, you are able to structure your work to achieve project deadlines. You will be an integral part of a team of experienced developers and IT professionals and given ample opportunities to learn and share your expertise with colleagues.

Location: 100% remotely (Poland).

Regular Web FullStack Developer:  main responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement cost-effective and high-quality solutions (CRM, CMS, marketing automation, integration with payment gateways, etc.);
  • Actively participate in the early stages of software analysis to help management determine the feasibility of projects according to current needs and objectives;
  • Assist in writing and maintaining technical documentation using industry-standard formats;
  • Monitor deliverable deadlines against scheduled completion date using a ticketing system and ensure proper follow-ups with the various stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the QA specialists to ensure that the final product is up to the company standard of quality;
  • Specialize in all aspects of web development (full stack web developer);
  • Ensure the high availability, integrity, and security of our cloud-hosted IT infrastructure.

What is the main requirements for a Regular Web FullStack Developer:

  • 3 years of experience developing web applications with a high-level language such as one of the following backend languages: .NET, JDK, PHP, CFML, Ruby, etc.;  
  • Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming; 
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL (preference on MS SQL / T-SQL); 
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript and at least one modern JavaScript framework and HTML, CSS; 
  • Experience with data-modeling and a good understanding of best practices in regard to normalization and optimization; 
  • Solid understanding of web infrastructure and workflow; 
  • Experience with distributed source control software (Git, Mercurial); 
  • Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written). 

Nice to have knowledge:

  • Experience with Lucee or Adobe ColdFusion; 
  • Experience with one modern CFML framework such as ColdBox; 
  • Understanding of web services and API design principles; 
  • Basic understanding of network troubleshooting; 
  • Experience in CMS, CRM, and e-commerce software; 
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and containers, web servers in Windows environment.

Recruitment process (approximately 2 weeks long)

After an online interview on phone with Close Europe recruiters to discuss this position and talk about your experience (30 minutes):

  1. Online technical interview with development team members – theoretical part (around 1 hour).
  2. Short task (which takes around 1 hour to do) with several brief issues to solve;
  3. An online interview to solve some practical issues in the language of your preference (around 1 hour).
